Philadelphia LISCPhiladelphia LISC is a local program of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, (LISC), a national non-profit development organization dedicated to transforming distressed neighborhoods into healthy, sustainable communities of choice and opportunity. Philadelphia LISC works with Community Development Organizations (CDCs), to provide the tools and programs needed to initiate positive change and transform neighborhoods into healthy, vibrant communities.
Local Initiatives Support Corporation is dedicated to helping community residents transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy and sustainable communities of choice and opportunity — good places to work, do business, and raise children. LISC mobilizes corporate, government, and philanthropic support to provide local community development organizations with:
LISC is a national organization with a community focus. Our program staff are based in every city and many of the rural areas where LISC-supported community development takes shape. In collaboration with local community development groups, LISC staff help identify priorities and challenges, delivering the most appropriate support to meet local needs.

Philadelphia LISC and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society received a $1 million grant from the Home Depot Foundation to support green building and landscaping in the eastern North Philadelphia target area.

Revitalizing Philadelphia’s neighborhoods is a collaborative process involving community groups, funders, government officials, the private sector, a committed advisory board and staff. Philadelphia LISC is grateful to so many supporters who enable us to continue our work.
